Outreach and Ministries

Food Pantry & Thanksgiving Baskets

We are currently collecting non-perishable food items to distribute to individuals and families in our community who are in need. St. Matthew’s has a Food Pantry, with non-perishable foods for persons who come by in need of food assistance. We also partner with the Food Pantry Program of St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church, contributing canned and dry goods to that ministry that has served over 500 need families in the area. If you would like to help contribute, please contact our office for more information.

For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink . .

Matthew 25:35

Angel Tree

Every year around Christmas time we participate in the Salvation Army Angel Tree Program. Each year, participants give gifts to children from less fortunate communities in Miami by selecting a child's name from the angel tree.

Hospitality

Our Hospitality team works hard to serve our church by providing refreshments to the congregation after church services so that we can all enjoy our fellowship time together. There are special occasions such as the annual Ethnic Diversity Luncheon, church picnics, pot luck suppers and seasonal parties. Sign up is easy, if you click on the link and register through "Sign-up Genius".

Memorial Garden

The Garden Ministry maintains the church Memorial Garden where congregation members go to remember and honor their loved ones. Our Garden Group maintains and beautifies our gardens. Twice a year, they gather on a Saturday to trim or move plants, and to plant new ones. This ministry is open to all who are able to participate on our Garden Days – having a “green thumb” is not a pre-requisite.
